Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the i-MED Portal?

The i-MED Portal is a software and communication system that allows users to securely transfer medical cases data (text and graphics) to nominated recipients via the Internet. The system and network also supports full 2nd opinion logic. The system and case package flow is a managed by sophisticated server processes to ensure that deliveries are made on tine and that incidents of failure are reported to the initiating REQUESTER as required.

Below is a diagram that shows the case package flow, graphically

How does the i-MED Portal work?

Users of the system construct CASE PACKAGES of medical data that contain textual, graphic and video derived detail using software that can be downloaded free of charge from the i-MED Portal. These case packages can then be transferred to nominated users (or groups of users) for diagnostic review and 2nd opinion comment. The results are then transmitted back, via the i-MED Portal network to the REQUESTING user. The i-MED Portal network is constantly monitored to ensure that case flow is timely and in line with user defined timing requirements. All failure incidents are logged and communicated to the relevant parties to ensure that nothing is missed. The software you download also retains a full history of your case detail; as long as you wish to keep it (disk space needs to be considered).
